James d'Orma Braman

James d'Orma "Dorm" Braman (December 23, 1901 – August 1980) was the 45th mayor of Seattle, Washington from 1964 to 1969. He was the last Republican mayor of Seattle.〔http://seattletimes.com/news/local/seattle_history/articles/citys_50_mayors.html〕 Previously, mayors were elected for a term of four years, but because of a change in the date of election to odd-numbered years, Braman served five and a half years.
==Biography==
He was born in Lorimor, Iowa, on December 23, 1901 to Jacob Wesley Braman. He moved to Washington state around 1908. He attended Union High School from 1916 to 1918, dropping out of school to work in the family lumber business.
